AMC’s Better Call Saul is calling up a couple of familiar names from the Breaking Bad days. Writers Thomas Schnauz and Gennifer Hutchinson have just signed on for the spinoff show, joining fellow BB alum Peter…
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) Trailer
Being an absolute freak for the original 60s & 70s films…I have to say, this looks fucking fantastic!
"A group of scientists in San Francisco struggle to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that is wiping out humanity, while Caesar tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes."

'A Fantastic Fear of Everything' (2012) Trailer
Simon Pegg! Can’t wait. This has been out in the UK for a year and half and is finally hitting the states in February.
"Jack is a children’s author turned crime novelist whose detailed research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck, persecuted by the irrational fear of being murdered.
When Jack is thrown a life-line by his long-suffering agent and a mysterious Hollywood executive takes a sudden and inexplicable interest in his script, what should be his big break rapidly turns into his big breakdown, as Jack is forced to confront his worst demons; among them his love life, his laundry and the origin of all fear.”
'Godzilla' (2014) Trailer
The awesome new film trailers keep coming this month. First it was the trailer for Jason Bateman’s directorial debut ‘Bad Words’…and now it’s the long-awaited trailer for the highly anticipated reboot of…’Godzilla’. Spoiler Alert - It’s awesome!
"An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence."
And…it’s directed by Gareth Edwards, the writer and director of the awesome, underrated and underseen 2010 film, ‘Monsters’. If you haven’t seen ‘Monsters’ yet…rent it. It’s a great film and an awesome example of how to create a sci-fi suspense film through story, mystery, subtlety, drama and just enough monster-views to keep the audience riveted without inundating them and giving it all away.
And…besides his past international recognition for his visual effects in prestigious television shows…Edwards created all of the special effects for ‘Monsters’ himself, using only off-the-shelf equipment. His entire crew for that film consisted of just five people!
'Godzilla' stars Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and the always awesome Bryan Cranston and hits theaters May 16th, 2014.
'Bad Words' (2014) Trailer
March 21st cannot get here fast enough. Jason Bateman’s directorial debut, “Bad Words” looks funny as fuck…and, word out of the Toronto Film Festival is, it’s exactly that.
This is an amazing trailer but…warning…this is a “red band" trailer. It’s definitely not safe for work, not safe for children and has language and jokes that are awesomely inappropriate.
In the mood for a documentary but not sure what to watch?
Among my many film fanaticisms, documentaries are right up there…and of the 500+ films I currently have in my ever-changing queue to watch (that I haven’t yet seen)…98 are currently documentaries.
From Donald Trump to Fishing Boats, from Pinball Machines to Jesus Camps…there’s something in the list for every documentary-freak. I can’t comment on how good each of these are, since they’re the ones I haven’t gotten to yet…but they all made it on my list due to a great trailer or a great sounding concept.
The link itself will take you to a page containing each of the films’ posters. Once there…click on any film poster to go to its description and trailer.
Many of these films can be found on Netflix, Apple TV and other video-streaming services. I’m also constantly adding new docs to the list (and deleting ones as I watch them), so save the link somewhere if you’d like to keep checking back for new titles I’ve come across and added.
I hope this helps some of you get your documentary-fix for December!
